Experts from CIRCL advise companies on the following safety measures in order to prevent unexpected surprises on Monday:
- Send an alert to all employees that they should not open attachments from unknown senders
- The IT team should review the back-up system and backups and also ensure that all patches are installed
- (Retroactively) move all email messages with active code in attachments into a quarantine
- Control returning laptops on Monday before the Start-of-business
