On June 8th, 2015, the Secretary of State for the Economy, Francine Closener has launched the new promotion campaign for cybersecurity, Securitymadein.lu.
The 3 objectives of SECURITYMADEIN.LU are:
- To coordinate government initiatives such as CASES (promotion of information security within companies), CIRCL (the coordination and action services of post-incidents) and to support awareness actions of the general public within the context of BEE SECURE;
- To promote the wider community of information security;
- To develop a cybersecurity ecosystem that will enhance the visibility of actors and services within the Luxembourg information security field.
During the presentation, the Secretary of State for the Economy Francine Closener recalled that the Luxembourg approach to information security is to establish “security as an infrastructure”, by making its access affordable and easy to every user: “ We thus consolidate the existing confidence of all citizens. By integrating the principles of cybersecurity in the economic policy of the country, we comfort domestic and foreign companies in their thoughts to invest themselves – and invest – in Luxembourg. SECURITYMADEIN.LU and the different areas of activities developed by SMILE are an integral part of the national strategy to position the Grand Duchy as a real ICT Trust Center”.
By establishing a strong link between the private sector and the public agencies in the economic interest of the country, SMILE g.i.e gathers the Ministry of Economy (in charge of its coordination), the Ministry for Family and Integration as well as the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth.
